Johanna Quizhpe, 9th grade Spanish Teacher

Johanna is originally from Cuenca, Ecuador. She came to this country at 15 years old and lived in Queens, New York ever since. In high school her biggest obstacle was learning a second language, that's when she realized that her passion was to help others learn a second language, as it opens many doors and it allows to see the world with different eyes. Johanna graduated from Hunter College in 2016 with a B.A in Spanish Adolescent Education (7-12), then started to work on her Master's degree at St. John's University in the field of Special Education.

stillerJessie Stiller, 9th grade teacher 
Jessie Stiller was born and raised in The Bronx.  She is proud of both her Puerto Rican and Costa Rican heritage. Jessie realized at a young age she wanted to be a teacher. She wanted to make school an educational and enjoyable experience. She received a B.A in History from Iona College and an M.S in Education at Molloy College. She is excited to be working at The American Dream School.  She is a mother of three, who enjoys cheering for the Mets, watching classical movies and spending time with her family.

gomez Anacelia Gomez, 9th grade ELA Anacelia is a proud Bronx gal-born and raised in this rugged city she calls home. The accessibility and quality of education became important at the age of 13 when she joined the R.E.A.D program-a reading program for kids K-2. She committed herself to a variety of programs such as BuildOn, designed to make students aware of their communities and allows students to actively discuss and find solutions for issues around literacy. She graduated Allegheny College with a B.A. in English and a minor in Psychology, then joined Teach for America as part of the 2015 Corps and began her teaching career.

mirandaGreg Miranda, 9th grade teacher
Greg Miranda is extremely proud to join the American Dream School team and family. He will be entering his 9th year teaching middle school mathematics this upcoming 2015-2016 academic year. He is very passionate about the content he teaches and looks forward to building positive relationships with his students and their families as well.  He also graduated from University of Albany at New York with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics as well as a Master of Science in Secondary Education. Being a native New Yorker from the South Bronx himself, Greg is excited to give back to one of the communities that made him who he is today.

felixAlejandro Feliz, 9th grade Math Alejandro Feliz was born in Barahona, Dominican Republic. He enrolled in the career of Mathematics Education at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. A few years later he received a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Teacher Education. He graduated as the valedictorian of his College. One year before his graduation, he joined the team of teachers at O & M Hostos School, a monolingual school (English) in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, as a High School Math Teacher. Alejandro has a personal math website that he enjoys cultivating. He is excited to be apart of ADS!


Alex Gutierrez, 9th grade Spanish Teacher

Alexander is from the Basque Country in the top north of Spain. First, he studied an A.A in Telecommunications and worked for a big company.  He got a B.C in Social Work in 2007 and a Graduate Degree in Sociology in 2010 by the Deusto University in Spain. He lived and studied in Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. He obtained an M.A in secondary education at Deusto University in 2012. He previously worked as a School Social Worker and as a High School teacher. He came to the U.S.A five years ago. He speaks Basque, Spanish and English.


raelIsrael Morales, 9th grade teacher 
Israel Morales and will be leading the Project Based Learning class with your students. He previously taught for five years at Bronx Preparatory Charter School, and is excited to work at ADS because it offers  an amazing opportunity for your children to learn in an amazing environment. Originally from southern California, Israel speaks fluent Spanglish. He hope's to learn as much from our students as they will learn from us.
